Just finished watching this superbly crafted Ridley Scott film which I missed at the Cinema a few months ago. I am glad I watched it. It was highly entertaining and kept the adrenalin pumping!
I am a big fan of Leonardo DeCaprio; he was superb in it. Not the best fan in the world of Russell Crowe, but he also supported very well and gave a little comic edge to the movie.
This was a war/terrorism movie but with an edge to all the rest.
Highly recommended!
Next up...Gran Torino...it's being billed as the best movie Mr Eastwood has starred in!

Push
Sorry for the lack of posts on my part; I have just been so busy as the children have been off school for their holidays.
Anyway, back to the film; went to see this at the cinema with high expectations. It was adequate, thought the plot was a little weak. It was nice to have a change of scene; it was set in Hong Kong so great to see some culture!
Dakota Fanning was quite annoying and Chris Evan's character lacked a bit of depth as it was his first film in a lead role. The two chinese characters were quite annoying too (when you watch it, you will know what I mean!)
I will try to watch a few this week hopefully. I really want to see "Body Of Lies" starring Leonardo DeCaprio and Russell Crowe, but just not finding the time to see them lately, perhaps this Thursday. Will also try and squeeze in Clint Eastwood's new one, Gran Torino.
Good Night!

Billu Barber
Went to see this at the cinema today ( as I am going to have quite a busy week) and was surprised at the depth this movie had.
It was a tale of 2 people who live in different worlds; a very simple idea, yet the story was very intriguing with a pleasant twist at the end. I won't give the plot away-do watch it if you have time!
It stars the talented Irrfan Khan who in my opinion is the most underrated actor in Bollywood; and of course the fantastic Shah Rukh Khan. There are "item" songs with special appearances from the glamourous Kareena Kapoor and amazing Deepika Padukone.
I will try and watch some more films this week and keep you updated; I haven't been too well hence the lack of posts.

My Bloody Valentine (3D)
Just got back from the pictures now after watching this. This was quite a gripping thriller with a decent storyline. I felt they could have done a bit more with regards to 3D special effects; there were only a handful of times that I gasped in amazement.
There was plenty of gore, blood and guts. However, it was slightly predictable. The gay guy out of Dawson's Creek was in it which was a bit of a familiar face in otherwise an unknown cast.
The only thing that I didn't like was that they have left it wide open for a sequel :-( . I cannot imagine that it will be any good than this.
I don't know which film I am going to watch next; you are just going to have to wait!

Bolt
Sorry for the late post. I was meant to watch this on Sunday; got through 30 minutes, when the DVD player packed up! Anyways, finished watching this delightful tale yesterday.
Superb comeback from Disney; it was a very funny and fit for all to see. Your kids will like it too because of the unique storyline and variety of characters.
I am of the opinion it is a good contender to win best animation in the Oscars.
Next up is My Bloody Valentine in 3D (will be paying a visit at the cinema) which I will be watching today. I will report back later!

Ip-Man
Based on a true story, this surely lived up to its name as one of the Greatest Martial Arts film's ever made.
It is set in the era before and during the Japan China war. The film had everything, romance, humour and its fair share of brutal fighting. There was never a dull moment; something "big" happened every 5 minutes!
It's a shame this hasn't (yet) been shown in Cinemas over here in the UK. It will surely be a hit!
It was news to me that the great Bruce Lee's master was Ip-Man himself! The character who played Master Ip Man, Donnie Yen is a rising star, I am sure we will see more of him in the coming years. I thoroughly enjoyed his acting prowess.
This is a most definately a must-see for kung fu film fans to get their adrenal glands pumping. It's one of the best kung fu films of the decade. See it if you have the chance!
