I expected a fun, neat comedy but what I experienced was so much more: a great plot, brilliantly executed and acted. The jokes and fun parts were on point, and the world the movie created felt very authentic, immersive and a joy to watch on the big screen - this was helped by amazing costuming and cinematography.
The entire cast had very strong chemistry between them, and both Hathaway and De Niro were wonderful.
Overall an awesome, heartwarming movie. I walked out of the movie theater with a smile.

Captive
Great performances by David Oyelowo and Kate Mara. The two created good chemistry on the screen.
David Oyelow is a fine actor. I was really drawn in at watching him play Nicols. It was very intriguing watching him showcase the many levels of the character his is performing.
It was a compelling story based on true events which made it more realistic and more satisfying.

Sicario
The film has a slow pace and it takes its time building up to the main point of the story. The final scene with Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro is among the best that I have seen this year.
Sicario's combination of gruesome violence and minimal soundtrack creates this strange atmosphere to the film. It is amidst the most depressing I've see. Now I'm not talking about tear-jerking sad films, but about that sort of bleak hopelessness that is hard to get right.
Overall, Sicario might not be a film for everyone but I think it will definitely have a place amongst this year's best.

Everest
Everest is a film that you know what you are going to get and it doesn't disappoint in that aspect. In fact, Everest may be something more then your typical Hollywood disaster film, with unpredictable moments and truly distressing, realistic scenes. However, with the fast paced action, you lose the ability to really connect with some pivotal characters and the film glosses over so many potentially interesting characters, that when some of them meet their demise, you care very little about their deaths.
Unlike other films of it's caliber, Everest manages to surprise and makes you positively invested in the story.

Maze Runner : The Scorch Trials
This movie definitely exceeded my expectations. It definitely trumps Divergent by far, might even be on par with the Hunger Games. This movie was non-stop action, and mystery. It definitely succeeded in keeping me on edge wondering what was going to happen next. If you're contemplating whether or not you should watch it, do yourself a favour and watch it, believe me you will not regret it! I look forward to the final part of this trilogy!

Self/less
Every now and again you get a movie that just about ticks all the boxes and makes you feel OK about paying your hard earned cash to see it. Well this is one of those movies...
Plenty of twists at the beginning with an interesting immortality plot, but as you gradually get absorbed into it, you start to realise how the movie will play out half way through, sadly it took that course, which is a little disappointing.
Overall the film contained a lot of successful elements mixed into the movie but was just predictable that's all.

Southpaw
Southpaw is a drama/sports film directed by Antoine Fuqua and stars Jake Gyllenhaal. Although clichéd, the way the story of this film is told is what makes it great. The acting was great throughout the film especially by Gyllenhaal and surprisingly, the young child actor,Oona Laurence was fantastic. The boxing scenes themselves were shot very well and did a good job of really putting you in the shoes of the fighters. The dramatic scenes were done very well also.

No Escape
No Escape delivers an extreme high-tension, nerve shredding thriller that will keep you at the edge of your seat throughout the movie. The concept of this movie is pretty simple – save yourself and your family from the riots and political uprising.
No Escape is commendable for its style of execution, every single scene and frame you see on screen is relevant and excellently shot.
Really good, would watch again.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
I must admit after seeing the trailers for The Man From Uncle I was excited but was unsure whether it would live up to initial promise.
Well the potential delivers, not only is this a great tribute to the TV series but this is a really enjoyable film in it's own right.
The characters are funny and engaging - there is a lot of really snappy interchanges between them and they are all likable and good fun to see on screen. Both Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer are really well suited to their parts and have great banter. Alicia Vikander is brilliant as well, and really adds spice to a role that might have been nothing with someone else.
The storyline is also actually good in a 60's spy show / film kind of way. And finally it looks and sounds great with cracking music and a gorgeous look. I think this is probably Guy Richie's most complete film and it would be shame if it doesn't do well enough to warrant a sequel as I would really love to see more of their adventures.
Highly recommended!

Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation
Everything about that movie was well balanced.
It had the right amount of every element that would make a movie simply brilliant! This sequel for me, was definitely the best Mission movie yet. And at the same time it recalls so many details from the first mission impossible movie. And most of all the action. Every action scene in this movie was breathtaking and there will be moments when you would just want to get up and start clapping. They did a good amount of the stunts without CGI and that will make you appreciate the action even more. Kudos to Simon Pegg for his impeccable timing for humour.

Wrong Number
Just when I think Pakistani movies are heading in the right direction they come up with stuff like this.
This movie has nothing going for it, the plot, the acting, the screenplay, the direction, nothing is worth mentioning and there was absolutely no character development or chemistry whatsoever in fact I've seen cave paintings with better stories than this movie.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan
This is undoubtedly Salman Khan's best movie ever with one of the best stories presented on the Bollywood big screen in the past decade. Excellent performances by each and every member of the cast, particularly Nawazuddin and the little charming girl - Harshaali. The movie is a smoothly paced affair and highly entertaining and engaging. It does well for Indo-Pak relations which is always a positive in the 21st century.
