Everything seems so bland. The constant jibe of who gets the last word in seems forced, predictable and acts like an edit for the next scene.
The romantic angle that was introduced lacks chemistry. From out of nowhere, the characters involved suddenly had an interest for one another? Without any build up of it in past movies nor in this one, it just felt empty.
Camera angles that were purposefully shot for the intentional thrill of 3D is like any other angles used in any other 3D-movie-going-experience.
All in all...it is still watchable. It just left a disdain taste of yet another repetition of the Marvel formula.

Child 44
Confusing and bloated post WWII crime drama about a Soviet military policeman embroiled in a lengthy investigation of a series of child murders while the Stalin-set government attempts a cover up of a serial killer loose. The screenplay by is all over the place and never finding its exact groove: action thriller? murder mystery? hero redemption flick?

The Imitation Game
Benedict Cumberbatch delivers the performance of his career in this, I've always been a fan of him but I never expected to see him act as stunning as he does here, every line of dialogue he blurts is powerful and you can tell he really means it, hopefully he will get more great roles like this in the future. Dramatic and uplifting, the Imitation Game is an outstanding film that I would recommend to anyone looking for a good biography film or drama.

John Wick
John Wick adds hardly a story, no character development, no needless character or background, no misplaced drama, no misplaced humor and not too much eye candy, nothing of that. What John Wick offers is action, action and more action. In fact, it is one long action scene, with some lines and close ups added. But that is not a problem. The directors promise action and deliver. While delivering they made it look good and convincing, without trying to be more, and they're smart enough to give the movie a satisfying beginning and ending.
And for those who claim that Keanu Reeves is a horrible actor..... you are right. But his blank expression is perfect for this movie. Leave the acting to the bad guys and the delicious guest part for Willem Dafoe.
If you're tired of movies with forced drama or loaded with CGI, John Wick will be a pleasant wake-up call.

Cinderella
At first, I was not necessarily convinced that a Cinderella live action film would be interesting but Kenneth Branagh at the director's chair & Cate Blanchett as the stepmother made me rethink my position. The project became less of a silly little film with these two on board.
Cinderella was a beautiful film, very tasteful, colorful, touching and classy. It's a very different Cinderella but it had the spirit of the animated film. The stepmother, Cinderella herself, and the prince were different, they had more substance, they multidimensional and that's mostly true for the stepmother and the prince.
The ensemble cast really elevated the film, they embodied the characters we came to know and love but portrayed them in quite a unique way.
Really enjoyed it - Lily James is my new favourite Brit!

Fast and Furious 7
By about 2009 when 'Fast & Furious' was released, the franchise had slowly began to veer away from its initial focus of street racing and instead began to turn its attention to the action genre and over-the-top big budget sequences. However along with this change of style, the franchise was actually getting better and better with each film. Today I saw the most recent instalment in the cinema... talk about action-packed!
Fast & Furious 7 is a no-holds, over-the-top and mindless action film, but this aside, it is an extremely entertaining and fun film to watch. With an all-star cast and some brilliant action sequences, 'Fast & Furious 7' is proof that certain franchises can continually make great movies. The most notable moment however in the entire film is the emotional and respectful ending during the send-off of Paul Walker, the film finishing with a montage of Walker in the previous six films, finishing with just two words, "For Paul."

Night at the Museum : Secret of the Tomb
So the final movie in the trilogy. When the first movie came I thought it was a nice idea and then its sequel was so bad without any further innovative ideas to add up. I was not expecting anything from the third movie, but it was surprisingly good.
Very happy to see Robin Williams one final time. What a great actor, lucky we had him in our time.
There are some good laughs, action and adventure. The story is not too bad and the ending wraps things up nicely.
