Splice

Strange and gripping film here.

I for one, had no idea what the film was about, and quite a few things took me by surprise, especially towards the end - and in particularly the actual ending!

Took some time for me for the story to take off, and it was very interesting after about 15-20 minutes.

If you like science fiction and mutations, you will love it! But be prepared for a couple of horrors!

The A-Team

This was surprisingly good.

I thought it would be absolutely awful, but if you liked the TV series, then you will most likely enjoy this!

There was lots of action, laughs and wacky moments (that included Murdoch 99% of the time!)

Story line was good, definately NOT run-of-the-mill. There was much more to it.

Seems most likely that there will be a sequel!

The Ghost

Political thriller from the likes of Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan. A little cameo from Tom Wilkinson.

Film-making and characterisation was really good - however, the plot was one that did not really interest me a great deal.

A nice twist towards the end, although my first reaction was that of "was it all really necessary!"

Watch it of you like the actors in it!

Inception

WoW what can I say? A dream, within a dream within a dream?! You have to watch this to fully appreciate it. All the performances were superb, I thought Ellen Page was outstanding.

Having seen it once already, it's a film I think you have to watch over and over to understand; I am sure there will be new points one will pick up each time.

A much better effort than Shutter Island - this one keeps you guessing even after it finishes! Could there be a sequel? Perhaps...

Heartbreakers

Bravo! Fantastic funny, slick and chic french rom-com here which has been tipped as the best one of the year, and I certainly had to agree with them.

It was one of those weeks, when nothing quite took my fancy at the cinema this week, and thought I would give this a go. It's not really my genre, but this might I say is superb and certainly lived up to its tag.

For me though, it was not the main leads that made this film but the couple who were playing the supporting roles. So funny the pair of them!

Just one critisicm; the main female lead had a really big gap in her front teeth, which did not really make her fit for the glamorous role that she played!

Killers

Slapstick stuff here from Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher.

Ever since watching Katherine in Knocked Up, I've been a huge fan, but as the performances carry on I am getting even more and more disappointed in her.

There were a few capers in it, and some good twists, but for me I think the chemistry between the pair was just lacking - pretty stupid plot too.

One to avoid...

Predators

I was really looking forward to this film having seen a teaser a few weeks ago.

It started out really well, and kept me in suspense, but as with most films such as these, as soon as they bought out the bigger monsters, the movie just fizzled away, and i think I may have even dozed off for 5 minutes.

Its the closest remake to the original "predator" starring who else but Arnold Schwartznegger, but it just didn't feel the same; the supposed twist towards the end is appalling.

Go watch this if you reall really want to!

Tesis

Really good on the edge seat stuff here.

Another Spanish psychological thriller, which is wonderfully directed. So much depth to the character's, and it had me guessing and thinking every minute.

Some disturbing scenes, but it is all necessary! Just would not be the same if it didn't have it in because it is detrimental to the story.

A must-see in my opinion!

Cinema tomorrow - new film out called "Predators"!

Hierro

Strange and disturbing Spanish film here.

I found it visually stunning, but the story and plot were lacking in my opinion - a bit predictable.

I think the director was trying too hard to confuse the audience, whereas, I figured out the plot about half way through.

Still worth a watch though just for the imagery.

The Karate Kid

A remake of the old classic, with Will Smith's son, Jaden playing "Daniel LaRusso" (but named, Dre) and Jackie Chan playing the role similar to Mr Miyagi.

Kids will probably really like it; I thought they did a good job, although it is hard to beat Ralph Macchio and the Late Noriyuki Morita in the classic 80s roles.

If I want to be really PC, then this film should have been called "The Kung-fu Kid". There was karate in the whole film!

Have a go at watching if you liked the original!
