Very disappointed. It limped along with being stretched in areas that just made it boring. Too many long pauses and "rest periods". There was no need for Part 2 from what has been put out. It should have concluded as one third installment. It seemed even the actors wanted be working on something else than this elongated (2 hours plus for what should have bee a 30 minute finally on the end of Part 1. The film was very predictable all along and besides some battle scenes and scary "Mutts" - the rest was just meandering along.

Black Mass
Good acting, horrible execution.
This movie completely failed to deliver on plot, with no connections from one scene to the next and no excitement. There was not even a climax. The lack of emotion and plot, with the only focus being on Whitey Bulger's bad side, holds this movie back from offering anything compelling. It was just bad.

Steve Jobs
This movie is a dramatisation, based on facts.
Rapid-fire dialogue with 2 conversations going on at the same time made this very authentic and real.
They also get the small emotional moments right as well. Some of the best moments are between Steve and his daughter.
The directing and editing is masterful. I liked the choice to shoot on different formats for the different years and the flashback scenes punctuate the drama on screen perfectly.
All the actors do a fine job, Fassbender is amazing.

Burnt
Definitely worth seeing if you enjoy fine dining or are simply a Bradley Cooper fan. Convincing performances by a great cast. Cooper is brilliant and continues to reveal the depth of his talent.
Burnt offers a unique perspective and behind the scenes peek into professional kitchens, which I found fascinating and gave me a new appreciation for the demands, artistry, and creative genius of great chefs.
The message on the need for professional counseling and support for someone whose life has self-destructed through substance abuse was in balance. Watching Cooper's character struggle to start anew while still afraid to face his demons is a story line relevant to many.

S.P.E.C.T.R.E.
Bond is back just as we are used to, but thanks to the enormous hype following the great Skyfall, it is not as good as expected.
Let me start with the actors. Overall good performances, however Craig does not feel as inspired as Bond in this one, and I also think there should have been more to Waltz' role as Oberhauser, considering his reputation of delivering great supporting roles.
When it comes to the story, it is action-packed and exciting, just what we expect from these movies. But after the magnificent opening-scenes in Mexico with the costumes and huge crowd, I just feel that the rest of the movie was lacking the same feeling to the rest of the scenes and settings, and therefore the movie lost some of its greatness. In addition the car-chase and the meetings between Bond and Hinx where not that spectacular.
So, to sum it up, the movie delivers what you're expecting, but unfortunately nothing more.

He Named Me Malala
Malala is a noteworthy individual who deserves to be documented. Like she says in the movie, her story is every girls story, and it deserves to me told.
My favorite part of this documentary was getting to know her from a more personal side. Incidentally, she now lives in the same city as me in the UK. It was also interesting to learn of the story of her father; facts I did not know before.
To me it was what all of us have in common with Malala that makes this documentary special, and in return makes everything that she has done inspirational.
Go see it and get inspired.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania
I am usually pretty lenient with films and rarely find films to be this bad. But Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania takes some of the most overused concepts in Bollywood films and puts it in one film. While the movie may be able to make money, it is just another cliche movie. The story line is absolute garbage, and the actors are not able to make up for it. Yes, both Alia and Varun look great in the film, but I personally care for their acting. Even the music is not up to par. The bottom line is that this movie does not live up to its hype and does no justice to Dharma Productions.

Ek Villain
Familiar with the sory as it is a copy of a Korean Movie, "I Saw the Devil." Regardless of where the plot is derived from it was an enjoyable watch. The non-linear plot format was intriguing, especially when compared to modern and rather stale mainstream Bollywood films. The various characterisations as well as embedded parallelism and circular plot progression can also provide good post-movie conversations.

Ant-Man
From the start I had a feeling this wasn't going to be good. With the other Marvel movies, even if they weren't good films, the trailer at least made it seem fun. But with the Ant-Man trailer I saw nothing to pique my interest. The good reviews gave me hope that the movie was good after all but I should have trusted my gut instead.
Now, as I look back on Ant-Man, the only thing that comes to mind is the boredom I experienced. The story has no stakes.

Premium Rush
It's not a 10 star film but it is a fun ride with action that makes up for a few flaws in plot and the flow of storyline. The best issue in this film is almost constant action and wild biking through the New York streets. One of the elements that were new to the screen and highly workable were the sudden stop of action to follow the split-second decision making of a messenger/biker. So, if you're looking for a thrill ride and a fun film then go see it. Enjoy the earthy feel of the cameras that capture the life of a messenger on two wheels competing with trucks, cabs, and cops.
