Wall Street - Money Never Sleeps

To round off december, finally got to see this movie, many months after release.

I must say I was not disappointed at all. This was a well made movie. I really liked Carey Mulligan in it who played Michael "Gecko" Douglas' daughter. She brought innocence to the screen and played a great role.

I wasn't a huge fan of the first movie (probably because I was young and immature!) but this was very good.

If you like business and power then this is the film for you!

Monsters

Got a chance to see an advance preview of this.

Once again, another disappointing monster movie. You keep waiting for something to happen and ... nothing.

That said, the cinematography was stunning; you could call it more like a travel documentary!

2 main characters in the movie. Not seen them before, but they failed to make an impact.

Unstoppable

Featuring the amazing Denzel Washingtom and newcomer Chris Pine (who actually acted extremely well in my opinion), this adrenaline packed movie was just what I needed on this cold dark night. It also features the glamorous Rosario Dawson (who looked disappointingly normal in this).

The movie charts true events of the runaway train which threatens to cause destruction and loss of life in the rollercoaster ride.

Its a super film and it does grip you right from the start!

Go watch!

We Are What We Are

Strange, odd mexican film here.

Featuring lots of raw acting and unknowns; I don't think I have seen a mexican film before!

Its about a family of cannibals living in a normal urban town - need I say anymore?

The way it ended shows a possibility of a sequel, but not sure I could go through it all again!

Despicable Me

Pretty good animated adventure her, although I still feel Toy Story 3 wins the best award for best animation this year; we will have to wait and see.

It's a far fetched plot, but I suppose it has to be in order to excite the younger audiences.

The animation is vivid and action sequences are good. One liners are good too, but I guess the adults would understand them.

An entertaining film which was great to watch on sunday afternoon.

Due Date

Funny road-trip movie here. I would think it is probably more of a movie for the guys.

Robert Downey Junior is back on track here, after the Iron Man 2 flop. Both he and the new guy, Zack Galifianakis, who, may I add is the star of the show had a great chemistry together. Zack was terrifyingly annoying but played a loveable character too.

It's very good, and you should give it a watch.

Anjaana Anjaani

Disappointing and cliche bollywood film here. Decided to give a watch due to two decent actors. In my opinion, no matter how well the actors acted, the script and plot was weak.

The songs weren't great and I lost interest after about half an hour as it didn't pull me.

I found it quite silly to be honest. Real lack of decent Bollywood stuff this year. Don't know why?

The Stoning Of Soraya M

A movie that was recommended to me, so decided to give this a watch.

This movie was made last year and was subject to critical acclaim. Some of the cinematography is stunning and some wonderful performances by the main lead and supporting actors.

It's shocking that this sort of injustice still goes in parts of the world, especially in Islamic States were women have no free speech.

The main scene is petrifying to watch; you could compare it to the crucifiction of Christ; he was innocent but still punished. I have to admit it brought tears to my eyes.

Superbly made albeit the content being disturbing - 9

Paranormal Activity 2

My film at the cinema for this week was this one.

I quite liked the first movie so It made sense in watching the second.

It was quite slow to get into, but the story starting making sense, with the really spooky parts 3/4's of the way through! It was very interesting how the 2 movies complimented each other.

Not as scary as the first, but for those who liked the first one, then this is a must-watch!

Red

Funny goings-on in this action comedy. Don't normally associate Bruce Willis with films like this, they tend to be more serious.

Some parts were silly, but that was the theme of the film. John Malkovich was his usual psycho self!

If you're looking for something light and funny with a bit of action then watch this!
