Triangle

Confusing Horror/Thriller this one. The storyline was OK and it was not as bad as I thought it would be. It did make the viewer think and there were some interesting references and twists in the plot. It made the audience guess what was about to happen.

Some may say the ending was straight-forward and predictable, but I thought it was quite cleverly done. I do not think many people understood it.

One to watch if you have the time to think about it carefully!

A Serious Man

A VERY jewish film this one. You may not understand some terminology.

Another offering from the Cohen Brothers; decided to give it a try, although I did not enjoy the last two, Burn After Reading and No Country For Old Men.

I was quite impresssed with it. Made me laugh in quite a few scenes. Humour was very dark, story was failry ordinary, but they made it into something where you actually cared for the characters. There were some very deep moments, like the ending, and it has been left open ended for the viewer to decide the ending. Some very thoughtful film-making!

I understood the ending, not sure many other people did?!?

2012

Been running a little slow with the reviews recently, so much has been happening.

I saw this a few weeks ago now on the big screen and I thought it was fairly enjoyable if you kept an open mind. Although it was very long (nearly 3 hours); because there was something of note happening every 5/10 minutes, it kept my interest going.

Some of the stunts were laughable, but its Hollywood at the end of the day! Acting performances were wooden; I guess it didn't matter in view of the special effects which were, I admit, pretty amazing!

Watch it if you have nothing better to do and want to kill a few hours!

Four Christmases

Quite a delightful Christmas Flick. Again, I did not catch Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon last year, so It was nice to see them in this.

My main critiscm though is that of Vince; I feel he seems to play a similar role, over and over again.

Still a good way to pass the time though!

The Fourth Kind

Quite a terrifying film this, including real footage, which was integrated into the actual film itself. It was very realistic the way they made it, and it worked well. Based in true events (although I am still sceptical!)

Milla Jovovich acted well. I am only used to seeing her in films which did not require too much effort!

Not a bad effort, but I wish I could have seen better effects!

The Heartbreak Kid

Another Ben Stiller comedy which I did not get round to watching when it came out 18 months or so ago.

It was OK. It was quite funny and stupid in places, although it had a very routine and predictable ending.

It started out promising, but then the story kind of lost its way, and salvaged itself a little towards the end.

This Is It

Awesome, awesome documentary. I guess you will only like it if you are a MJ fan. It charts the story of how the "This Is It" tour would be and behind the scenes footage of MJ rehearsing.

It was also quite sad and touching in places. MJ seemed very passionate about the whole thing, and its sad his fans could not see his last performance. I guess this movie was the next best thing!

RIP Michael Jackson. You will be missed.

Jennifers Body

I don't know why I even bothered with this one. So glad I did not watch it at the cinema. It was a complete waste of time without any point or twist! Pass it over, nothing else to say really!

My Sister's Keeper

A touching tale which was full of emotion. Found it very realistic and inspiring.

Amy Breslin's acting performance was worthy of note.

It's an emotional drama, not just for the female audience, but for us guys too. It just so happens the main characters in the film are female!

Its based on a novel, and i've heard reports that the movie is better than the novel for a change!
