Dallas Buyers Club

I was hooked from the start. Matthew McConaughy gives a staggeringly good performance whilst Jared Leto steals the show as Rayon, the unlikely business partner that Ron ends up working with.

It is an extremely bitter-sweet true story, and describes the despair, hope and uncertainty surrounding mid-80s AIDS patients. What is even more impressive is the way McConaughey shows the journey that Ron Woodroof takes, from abusive, blinkered rodeo redneck to tolerant, hard-nosed businessman with more than an eye for the medical laws of his country.

The Croods

The visuals alone are spectacular, the animation is jaw dropping, the cinematography is astounding, the creature and world design is extraordinarily creative, the designers didn't hold back anything. They made their own entire world and let their imagination soar freely.

The voice-acting is good, Nicolas Cage does a surprsingly good job as the caveman father. Emma Stone is great and the rest of the cast as well.

The story itself is nothing new really. You can almost always guess what's gonna happen, but I didn't really expect an Oscar winning script from a family movie.

All in all, it's one of the better animated features I've seen in a while, and it's very well worth the watch for anyone, you wont regret it.

Goliyon Ki Ras Leela Ram Leela

Do not waste your time

... unless you watch it just for the sets, not story.

The only reason to watch this movie would be for the sets and cinematography - Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for this.

Story is an insult to one's intelligence.

Get The Gringo

My main annoyance with Get the Gringo is the fact that none of the characters are likable. Every character including Mel himself are bland 1D shells of people who have nothing redeeming about them. Almost every character is doing something bad at almost all times in the movie.

We literally do not care about any of the characters by the end of the movie. Another flaw about the character Mel plays is that he is apparently superman. He will dodge any bullet, influence anybody he wants, commit any crime without being seen.

The plot itself is quite cliché and boring. Nothing is memorable.

I Spit On Your Grave 2

I have seen the original and the remake back in 2010 which i thought was a well made film. This time round the plot was different but had the same undertone of rape and violence. The sheer brutality of the scenes endured by the girl kept me watching and almost willing the girl on to survive. The lead was played very well and I found myself having to look away at several points as I am sure any MAN watching this will!

The Babymakers

This movie had potential but I felt like I had to force myself to keep watching. A lot of it was very predictable and the actors didn't have a lot of chemistry which really affected the overall film. I found myself thinking at certain parts 'would this be funny if *insert well known comedic actor here* was playing the part?'

Some parts of it were just down right silly it doesn't surprise me that it didn't screen at any of the local cinemas. The main reason for watching was Olivia Munn!

Her

What people may find in this movie I can not understand; you experience endless closeups of Mr. Phoenix talking with his supposed Operating System, and saying things so banal and so boring that you want to just close your eyes.

I suppose it was meant to be clever, sentimental, atmospheric, beautiful, but I found it quite unbearable after an hour.I really wasn't expecting the movie to be that bad with all the prizes and the reviews it received.

It just makes me wonder how people liked the film. I'm not raging against it; it was just an experience I would very much like to have avoided.

Lone Survivor

Lone Survivor depicts the failed Operation Red Wings mission in 2005 in which 18 members of the US Armed Forces were killed in action. The film delivers a heavy handed patriotic look inside what happened during those fateful hours.

All four leads play their roles very carefully. There is a forty five minute, pulse pounding shootout between a huge Taliban force and four trained Navy SEALs. As the title suggests, the shootout does not end pretty and never even comes close to sugar coating the brutal nature of war. The entire shootout sequence is filled with hard edged moments of brutality, gore and truly gut wrenching scenes. It is by far one of the most heart racing moments in recent cinema and considering the end results, it is very heart wrenching that by the end of it, you feel as if the wind has been knocked out of you. By the end of the film, Lone Survivor makes you really appreciate the freedom you have, a feat that has not yet been achieved in film up until now.

Runner Runner

This is a predictable thriller about the world of online gambling. Justin plays a Princeton math whiz that gets cheated in an online gambling poker game.

It's not a bad movie, it's just predictable. Moves at a fast pace and there are many gaps within the story. My biggest complaint was that it was just not gripping enough.

Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit

Chris Pine takes the role of Jack Ryan but has nowhere to go with it. Kevin Costner gets the worst of a cliché riddled script with lines like, "now you are operational". Perhaps they were going for comedy? Keira Knightly is capable of more. Kenneth Branagh makes a good villain.

The movie delivers about what you expect. There is loud music that gives away the suspense scenes. Cars crash about. Everyone you know will survive does and the world is saved for another day.

Everything is predictable.
