The Water Diviner

Even though Russell Crowe gave us an good or great performance as an actor but his directing is so much different as day and night , it's seems like he doesn't know the proper or the correct way to tell the story and make it interesting since the way of his storytelling now is so out dated feels empty and lack of creativity which is the worst thing that can happen when you're the director.

I felt the film was littered with flaws. Only good thing was the injection of culture into it.

Not bad and not great.

Cake

This movie isn't for everybody. It is a slow starter. It's a while before you feel anything for Jennifer Aniston's character. This is undoubtedly her finest performance on the big screen to date.

There's many unanswered questions early on in the movie, but bear with it, you get the answers later on! The movie also treats its audience with intelligence. It's not a life-changing movie, but it is a movie of hope. You do learn to love her character by the end. It is a worthwhile movie. Well, for me it was.

The Interview

I did not find this "comedy" to be funny. Awful from the start to the bitter end.

People will go and see it and it is a shame that for such a large audience the film delivers only juvenile humour, bad acting, stupidity at every turn and no intelligent message. Tasteless and violent sequences serve no purpose. The movie will make money and unfortunately more movies like this will be made by Hollywood.

I understand and support why the movie had to be shown but unfortunately it is an opportunity missed to treat the topic with some intelligence.

Whiplash

Whiplash is low budget film making at its finest, and surely promises big things from rookie director/writer Damien Chazelle. Seeing this film in the theatre was the first time this year that I was completely enraptured.

The film is loaded with tension and it did not let up from the very first scene, especially as soon as the incredible J.K. Simmons enters. Simmons, along with Miles Teller have some of the best on screen chemistry I've seen. They're connected; one cannot act without it affecting the other. The film is almost entirely focused on this relationship, and the simplicity definitely services the film. I hope people will go and see it…

St Vincent

Bill Murray shows his acting range in this film by playing a despicable human being that you can't help but to like, as Vincent, an angry old man who takes on the job of a babysitter to his new neighbour's young son in order to make some extra cash he surely needs.

Melissa McCartney, who plays the neighbour is also in the movie and plays a differnt role and does it well. I was getting fed up of her typical sterotypical and cliched roles lately.

The kid is also very good and it is a very genuine down to earth movie.

Kingsman

This film is very good and different. The action sequences are very entertaining, keeps you on the edge of your seat. The plot was a little too drawn out, yet had some very good twists.

The idea of a SIM card that can control people is very good. The one major area where this film failed for me was the CGI. The explosions looked horrendous. It was obvious when things were CGI'd.

The script was very well written and characters were very well developed.

Firth played his character to perfection, Caine was alright and I believe that Taron Egerton has a very promising future in action. The standout character has to be Samuel L Jackson; the lisp is absolutely brilliant.

Everly

To me this is the worst movie I have ever seen in a long time. I regret the fact that it is Salma Hayek who stars in it. Awful settings, awful scenario, just overall plain awful. She manages to kill at least 80 people (all of whom top mafia), and then, when finally it would be time for her to reunite with her girl, she dies too (which should have happened in the beginning given the severity of the situation).

A movie, so random, so pointless, and disturbing, that all it does is it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, and the painful sensation that you will never get the time you invested watching it, back.

Two States

Well the movie is good overall and is a light romantic comedy. Its worth watch for one time only as it is very cliched and predictable.

The actors were perfect for the role in my opinion and also Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt did a good job. Once you realise the pattern, the movie drags and the end result is clear. There was a lack of suspense.
